Flying a Super Cub on skis in the snow for the 1st time!
Watch in 1080P HD! (to read the panel + see the snow texture)

This was only my second flight in a Tail Wheel plane.
I had started Tail Wheel Conversion training a few months ago in the fall, but the after my first lesson, the plane I was training on had a maintenance issue and was grounded for the winter.
(Look for my previous tail wheel training video links below)

As luck would have it, my awesome CFI Dennis recently got access to another Super Cub and offered to give me a lesson on skis!
We had a good clear day (although windy) after a big snow storm system had moved though, and left lots of nice fresh snow.
So I was able to get another Tail Wheel flight done before spring!
It was a bit of a one off, because this plane needs to get ferried back to it’s owner soon, but this lesson was GREAT!
I shot the crap out of it so I will always have it for review, and I am excited to share it!
An added bonus is that a couple buddies came out and shot D-SLRs from the ground (in -18 degrees C with wind chill)
So we got some great exterior footage to edit in.

And there is more to come from that footage!

Flight Chops Disclaimer

I am a “weekend warrior” private pilot, I fly for fun with no intentions of going commercial. I have had my PPL for over 15 years, but still consider each flight a learning experience – I generally take detailed notes after each flight to remind myself what went well or what I could do to improve…. Having the GoPro cameras to record flights like this is invaluable. I find these self analysis videos very helpful in my constant quest to improve, and am happy to share.

Feedback is invited; however, please keep it positive.
